For many years, the IGW Weferlingen has been a sponsoring partner of the Lions Racing Team. Each year, IGW supplies engine parts for the current racing season. The Lions Racing Team can continue to depend on the support from IGW for years to come.

 

 

The Lions Racing Team was founded in 2000 as a student-initiative of the University of Braunschweig, the goal being that the "Formula Student" would develop and build a car. They named themselves the Lions Racing Team after the heralded lion of their hometown. In July of 2002, they raced for the first time as a 3-man German team in the university construction competition "Formula Student" in Great Britain.
